Cisco's End-of-Life Policy defines support milestone timeframes, and a product bulletin ends firmware support for the legacy 7900 series 47​18. Under Cisco's End-of-Life Policy, support availability under an active service contract terminates on the Last Date of Support 47.

Cisco End-of-Life Policy milestones

Cisco's End-of-Life Policy states that an End-of-Life announcement typically precedes the End-of-Sale date by 6 months 48. Hardware can still ship for 3 months following the End-of-Sale date, which defines the Last Ship Date 46. The policy provides routine failure analysis for hardware for 1 year after the End-of-Sale date 44. Counted from the End-of-Sale date, Cisco's End-of-Life Policy provides 5 years of TAC support and replacement parts for hardware 45. The Last Date of Support represents the final date that support remains available under an active service contract, after which support concludes 47.

Under bulletin EOL15899, announced April 29, 2026, the Cisco IP Phone 7811 reaches End-of-Sale on October 28, 2026, End of Vulnerability/Security Support on October 27, 2029, and Last Date of Support on October 31, 2031 6​7​8. Cisco identifies the Cisco Desk Phone 9811 as the replacement for the Cisco IP Phone 7811 9.

The Cisco IP Phone 7821 reaches End-of-Sale on October 28, 2026, under bulletin EOL15900 with an announcement date of May 13, 2026, reaching End of Vulnerability/Security Support on October 27, 2029, and Last Date of Support on October 31, 2031 10​11​12. WarmTransfer's reading of the sources is that the 7821 bulletin was announced about 5 and a half months before its End-of-Sale date (May 13 to October 28, 2026), which is shorter than the 6 months the policy describes as typical 14. Cisco identifies the Cisco Desk Phone 9841 as the replacement for the Cisco IP Phone 7821 13.

Under bulletin EOL15902, announced April 29, 2026, the Cisco IP Conference Phone 7832 has an End-of-Sale date of October 28, 2026, an End of Vulnerability/Security Support date of October 27, 2029, and a Last Date of Support of October 31, 2031 15​16. Cisco lists the Cisco IP Conference Phone 8832 as the replacement for the Cisco IP Conference Phone 7832 17.

As of September 22, 2026, the Cisco IP Phone 7800 Series end-of-life listing shows English bulletins only for the 7811, 7821, 7832, and the Deskphone Cover, showing none for the 7841 or 7861 5.

Cisco IP Phone 8800 Series

Under bulletin EOL15901, only the white-colour Cisco IP Conference Phone 8832 part numbers have an End-of-Sale date (October 28, 2026) and a Last Date of Support (October 31, 2031) 31. Cisco names the charcoal Cisco IP Conference Phone 8832 (CP-8832-K9, CP-8832-EU-K9, or CP-8832-LA-K9, depending on region) as the replacement for the white 8832, with identical features and functionality 32.

The Cisco Video Phone 8845 reached End-of-Sale on July 27, 2024, under amended bulletin EOL15261, announced January 27, 2024 33. It reaches End of Vulnerability/Security Support on July 27, 2027, and has a Last Date of Support of July 31, 2029 34​35. The 8845 bulletin maps each Cisco Video Phone 8845 part number to a Cisco Video Phone 8865 part number as its replacement; for example, CP-8845-K9 maps to CP-8865-K9 37.

The Cisco Video Phone 8865 had an End-of-Sale date of April 26, 2025, under amended bulletin EOL15614, announced February 26, 2025 38. It reaches End of Vulnerability/Security Support on July 27, 2027, and has a Last Date of Support of July 31, 2030 39​40. The 8865 bulletin maps Cisco Video Phone 8865 part numbers to Cisco Video Phone 8875 part numbers; for example, CP-8865-K9= maps to CP-8875-K9= and CP-8865NR-K9= maps to CP-8875NR-K9= 41. WarmTransfer's reading of the sources is that an 8845 owner following Cisco's published replacement chain now lands on the Cisco Video Phone 8875: the 8845 bulletin points to the 8865, and the 8865 bulletin points to the 8875 36.

The Cisco Wireless IP Phone 8821 had an End-of-Sale date of August 7, 2024, under amended bulletin EOL15285, announced February 7, 2024 26. The Cisco Wireless IP Phone 8821 reaches End of Vulnerability/Security Support on August 7, 2027, and has a Last Date of Support of August 31, 2029 27​28. Cisco names the Cisco 840 wireless phone as the replacement for the Cisco Wireless IP Phone 8821 (CP-840-BUN-K9 for the bundle, CP-840-K9= for the spare) and lists no migration product for the 8821 charging accessories 29.

The on-premises Cisco IP Conference Phone 8831 had an End-of-Sale date of October 7, 2019 and a Last Date of Support of October 31, 2024, so it is past end of support 30.

As of September 22, 2026, the Cisco IP Phone 8800 Series end-of-life listing shows no bulletin for the 8811, 8841, 8851, 8861 or the charcoal 8832 25.

Cisco IP Phone 6800 Series

The Cisco IP Phone 6841 and 6861 with Multiplatform Firmware had an End-of-Sale date of June 1, 2026, under bulletins EOL15734 and EOL15735, both announced December 1, 2025 2. The Cisco IP Phone 6841 and 6861 with Multiplatform Firmware reach End of Vulnerability/Security Support on May 31, 2029 and Last Date of Support on May 31, 2031 3. Cisco names the Cisco Desk Phone 9861 as the replacement for the Cisco IP Phone 6861 with Multiplatform Firmware 4.

The Cisco IP Phone 6821 and 6851 have an End-of-Sale date of October 28, 2026 and a Last Date of Support of October 31, 2031, under bulletins EOL15897 and EOL15898, both announced April 29, 2026 1.

Legacy Cisco Unified IP Phone 7900 Series

The Cisco Unified IP Phones 7940G and 7960G had an End-of-Sale date of July 23, 2010 and a Last Date of Support of July 22, 2015 19. The Cisco Unified IP Phones 7941G-GE, 7961G-GE, 7970G and 7971G-GE had an End-of-Sale date of August 1, 2008 and a Last Date of Support of July 31, 2013 20. The 2008 bulletin for the 7941G-GE, 7961G-GE, 7970G and 7971G-GE covered hardware only; it said software and feature development for those models would continue until further notice 21.

The Cisco Unified IP Phones 7915, 7942G and 7962G had an End-of-Sale date of February 1, 2016 and a Last Date of Support of January 31, 2021 22. Cisco named the 7841 or 8811 as the replacement for the 7942G, the 8841 or 8851 for the 7962G, and the BEKEM key expansion module for the 7915 23.

The Cisco Unified IP Phones 7945G, 7965G and 7975G and the 7916 expansion module had an End-of-Sale date of June 18, 2018 and a Last Date of Support of June 30, 2023 24. The 7945/7965/7975/7916 bulletin ends firmware support for all 7900 series endpoints, including legacy 7900 models that earlier bulletins covered as hardware only 18.

Webex Calling device support and policies

Under the Webex Calling device end-of-life policy, devices cannot be provisioned in Control Hub for Webex Calling or Wholesale from 12 months before their published End-of-Hardware date 54. Under the Webex Calling device end-of-life policy, devices stop functioning on Webex Calling or Wholesale at their published End-of-Hardware date 55. As of September 22, 2026, the Webex Calling supported-devices article's tables of devices that are end-of-life and devices approaching end-of-life list only Poly, SNOM, Yealink and AudioCodes devices; no Cisco-branded phone appears in either table 56.

The Webex Calling supported-devices article requires Cisco multiplatform phones to run software version 11.3.1MES5 or later 57. Cisco ended the A-FLEX-E2MPP licence SKU, which enabled Webex Calling on Enterprise-firmware 7800 and 8800 phones, with a last day of support of October 31, 2021 43. Webex Calling customers instead convert eligible phones to multiplatform firmware themselves in Control Hub 43.

The Webex Calling supported-devices article lists the Cisco 7811, 7821, 7841 and 7861 audio phones as supported, with minimum hardware versions for some: V03 or later for the 7821 and 7861, and V04 or later for the 7841 50. The Webex Calling supported-devices article lists the Cisco 8811, 8841, 8851 and 8861 audio phones and the 8845, 8865 and 8875 video phones as supported 51. The Webex Calling supported-devices article lists the Cisco 6800 series audio phones (6821, 6841, 6851, 6861, 6861 Wi-Fi, 6871), the Desk Phone 9800 series (9811, 9841, 9851, 9861, 9871) and the Wi-Fi phones Cisco 840, 860 and Wireless Phone 9821 as supported 49. The Webex Calling supported-devices article lists the Cisco IP Conference Phones 7832 and 8832 as supported and marks the Cisco Unified IP Conference Phone 8831 as not supported 53.

WarmTransfer's reading of the sources is that because no Cisco Unified IP Phone 7900 series model appears in the Webex Calling supported-devices article, a 7900 series phone in a CUCM export should be treated as having no Webex Calling path and needing replacement 58.
