A registration-based Local Gateway trunk supports up to 250 concurrent calls, runs only on Cisco CUBE, and uses digest authentication. A certificate-based trunk supports more than 250 concurrent calls, runs on several vendors' SBCs, and verifies the gateway FQDN by certificate.
