The Federal Communications Commission mandated in FCC 20-42, adopted and released on 31 March 2020 in WC Docket No. 17-97, that all voice service providers implement the STIR/SHAKEN caller identity authentication framework in the internet protocol portions of their networks by 30 June 2021.
