The Webex App supports answering calls, conference calls, and call transfer on both desktop and mobile clients[^60]. For users with an integrated desk phone, the application and desk phone share a single work phone number on a shared line[^23].

## Before you start

A user requires an active phone service assignment, such as Webex Calling, Unified CM, or service-provider hosted calling, for the dial pad to appear[^24]. Which advanced call settings appear in the interface depends on what an administrator or service provider has enabled[^5].

## What changes by situation

- Which Webex App are you using for this task? The desktop app on a Windows or Mac computer; The mobile app on an iPhone, iPad or Android phone.
- Do you also have a desk phone on the same line? Yes, a desk phone rings with the same work number as the app; No, the Webex App is my only phone for this number.

## Step 1: Check that you have a work phone line in the app

### Do
Open the Webex App and check under Calling for a dial pad[^24].

### What you should see
Verify that the dial pad is present, which indicates an active calling service[^24].

### Rollback
Suggested rollback: contact an administrator if the dial pad is missing.

## Step 2: Choose which device your calls go through

**The desktop app on a Windows or Mac computer + Yes, a desk phone rings with the same work number as the app**

### Do
Select Connect to a device, locate your integrated Cisco desk phone under Personal devices, and select it[^20]. Navigate to Calling and verify your desk phone is selected; if My Computer is displayed, select it and switch the selection to the desk phone[^22].

### What you should see
Dial a number in the app and verify that the call is placed through the desk phone while the phone's display reflects the call activity[^21].

### Rollback
Under Calling, switch the selected device back to My Computer[^22].

**The desktop app on a Windows or Mac computer + No, the Webex App is my only phone for this number**

### Do
Keep the default device selection in the desktop app, which handles calls directly[^60].

### What you should see
Verify that the dial pad is visible under Calling[^24].

### Rollback
Suggested rollback: no changes to reverse.

**The mobile app on an iPhone, iPad or Android phone + Yes, a desk phone rings with the same work number as the app**

### Do
Move calls between the mobile app and the desk phone using Call Pull when needed[^14].

### What you should see
Suggested check: place a call from the mobile app to verify connectivity.

### Rollback
Suggested rollback: disconnect any active call.

**The mobile app on an iPhone, iPad or Android phone + No, the Webex App is my only phone for this number**

### Do
Use the mobile app directly to place and manage calls[^60].

### What you should see
Verify that Calling displays a dialpad icon[^12].

### Rollback
Suggested rollback: no changes to reverse.

## Step 3: Place a call

**The desktop app on a Windows or Mac computer**

### Do
Go to Calling, enter the phone number using the dial pad, and select either an audio or video call[^11].

### What you should see
Verify that the call connects and that More options provides access to hold, transfer, merge, and conference[^13].

### Rollback
Suggested rollback: disconnect the active call.

**The mobile app on an iPhone, iPad or Android phone**

### Do
Go to Calling, tap the dialpad icon, enter the number, and tap Call[^12].

### What you should see
Verify that the call connects and subsequently appears in the call history[^37].

### Rollback
Suggested rollback: disconnect the active call.

## Step 4: Answer a call

**The desktop app on a Windows or Mac computer**

### Do
When an incoming call alert appears, select Answer to accept, Decline to reject, or Message to reply by text[^8]. If answering a call from another Webex App user, ensure your camera is turned off if you do not want your video to transmit, as the call starts with video active[^10].

### What you should see
Verify that the two-way audio or video session connects[^8].

### Rollback
Suggested rollback: disconnect the call.

**The mobile app on an iPhone, iPad or Android phone**

### Do
On iOS, tap Accept to answer or Decline to reject, or swipe right if the device is on the lock screen[^9]. On Android, select the video icon to answer or the end-call icon to decline[^7].

### What you should see
Verify the audio connection is established[^9][^7]. Note that after an iOS restart, incoming calls cannot be received until the device is unlocked[^41]; on Android, incoming calls can take up to 60 seconds after unlocking to arrive[^6].

### Rollback
Suggested rollback: disconnect the call.

## Step 5: Put a call on hold, resume it, and take a second call

**Yes, a desk phone rings with the same work number as the app**

### Do
Place the call on hold by selecting More and Hold in the app, or by pressing the Hold key on the desk phone[^39]. If a second call arrives, select Hold and Answer on desktop or iOS, or Answer on Android[^15].

### What you should see
Verify that the spaces list shows the on-hold icon regardless of whether the call was held from the app or the desk phone[^34].

### Rollback
Resume the call on either device: a call held in Webex App can be resumed on the desk phone, and a call held using the desk phone Hold key can be resumed in Webex App by selecting Resume, depending on your calling configuration[^39][^48].

**No, the Webex App is my only phone for this number**

### Do
During an active call, select More and select Hold[^40]. If a second call arrives, select Hold and Answer on desktop or iOS; on Android, selecting Answer automatically places the first call on hold[^15].

### What you should see
Verify that the spaces list shows the held call with an on-hold indicator[^40].

### Rollback
Select the held call in the spaces list and select Resume[^49].

## Step 6: Transfer a call

### Do
During an active call, select More, select Transfer, and choose either Consult First or Transfer Now[^53]. If using Consult First, speak with the target recipient before completing the transfer[^50]. If using Transfer Now, the call transfers immediately using audio only[^52]. On mobile, you can alternatively tap an entry in the Ongoing calls list to transfer immediately[^51].

### What you should see
For a Consult First transfer, verify you have spoken to the recipient before finishing the transfer[^50].

### Rollback
When using Consult First, resume the original call instead of completing the transfer[^50].

## Step 7: Add people to a call (conference)

### Do
During an active call, select More and select Conference[^18]. Enter the contact's name or phone number, choose an audio or video call, and then select merge[^18]. The existing participant remains on hold while the new participant is called[^17].

### What you should see
Verify that all parties are merged into a single conference call, noting that Webex Calling supports a maximum of 6 participants[^19].

### Rollback
When only 2 participants remain on the call, it reverts to an ordinary one-to-one call and restores transfer and call park[^16].

## Step 8: Check your voicemail

**The desktop app on a Windows or Mac computer**

### Do
Navigate to Voicemail, where a badge counter indicates waiting messages[^54]. Select a message and play it using Play or right-click and choose Play voice message[^56]. From this view, you can call back, mark as read, or delete the message without entering a PIN[^56].

### What you should see
Verify that the message plays and, if available, review the message transcription[^59]. Transcriptions may be absent if the message predates the feature, is still processing, is unclear, or is in a language other than English[^58].

### Rollback

**The mobile app on an iPhone, iPad or Android phone**

### Do
Check the badge counter next to Calls for waiting messages, navigate to Calls, and tap Voicemail at the top[^54][^57]. Select a message and tap Play, or swipe left to delete it[^57]. To access additional options, use Call Voicemail, which requires your voicemail PIN[^55].

### What you should see
Verify that the audio plays and review any displayed transcription[^59]. Transcriptions may be missing if the message is processing, unclear, older than the feature, or not in English[^58].

### Rollback
Suggested rollback: no rollback is required for playing a voicemail message.

## Step 9: Forward your calls

**The desktop app on a Windows or Mac computer**

### Do
Go to Settings, select Calling, open Call Forward, and enter a forwarding number or select voicemail[^29].

### What you should see
Verify that the phone icon turns green and remains green, and that a banner at the top of the Calling list confirms forwarding is active[^30]. Forwarded calls will no longer ring inside Webex App[^32].

### Rollback
Set the forwarding configuration back to Do Not Forward Calls[^33].

**The mobile app on an iPhone, iPad or Android phone**

### Do
Tap your profile picture, navigate to Settings, select Calling, and select a forwarding destination or enter a new number[^31].

### What you should see
Verify that the phone icon turns green and that a banner appears at the top of the Calling list[^30]. Incoming calls forwarded to another destination will no longer ring inside Webex App[^32].

### Rollback
Change the forwarding setting back to Do Not Forward Calls[^33].

## Step 10: Turn on Do Not Disturb

**Yes, a desk phone rings with the same work number as the app**

### Do
Configure Do Not Disturb either inside the app by selecting your profile picture, Availability, and Do Not Disturb, or by enabling it directly on the desk phone[^26][^28]. DND status synchronises between the app and desk phone, and turning on DND at the phone suppresses both call and message notifications in Webex App[^28].

### What you should see
Verify that incoming calls produce no alert notifications on either device[^25].

### Rollback
Select Availability and select Clear in Webex App, which synchronises and clears DND on the desk phone[^26][^28].

**No, the Webex App is my only phone for this number**

### Do
Select your profile picture, select Availability, select Do Not Disturb, and choose a duration or specify a custom time[^26].

### What you should see
Verify that incoming calls do not trigger alerts or notifications[^25].

### Rollback
Select Availability and select Clear[^26].

## Step 11: Use your call history

**The desktop app on a Windows or Mac computer**

### Do
Navigate to Calling, choose All or Missed, and hover over an entry to initiate an audio or video callback[^35].

### What you should see
Verify that call history displays up to 200 calls from the last 30 days and mirrors the call history seen on other Webex Calling devices[^36][^38].

### Rollback
Suggested rollback: no changes to reverse.

**The mobile app on an iPhone, iPad or Android phone**

### Do
Navigate to Calling to view the call log, where missed calls appear in red[^37]. Tap any entry to return the call using audio[^37]. To remove an item, swipe left on iPhone or iPad, or long-press on Android[^37].

### What you should see
Verify that the list shows up to 200 calls made, received, or missed within the previous 30 days and synchronises across your Webex Calling devices[^36][^38].

### Rollback

## Step 12: Move a live call to another device

**The desktop app on a Windows or Mac computer + Yes, a desk phone rings with the same work number as the app**

### Do
To move a call from the desktop app to a Cisco desk phone, press the Call Pull key on the phone, or dial *11 on a third-party phone[^14]. On a Cisco Desk Phone 9800 Series or Video Phone 8875 registered to Webex Calling, select Call pull or dial *11, selecting the specific line first on multi-line phones[^1]. To move a call from the desk phone back to a paired desktop app, select Move call to computer in the in-call window[^46]. Note that call moves are supported only on your primary line, and moving a secondary line requires selecting that line before using Call Pull[^45].

### What you should see
Verify that the call transfers to the chosen device and disconnects from the previous device[^2].

### Rollback
Pull the call back using Call pull or dialling *11 on the desk phone, or select Move call to computer in the desktop app[^1][^46][^2].

**The desktop app on a Windows or Mac computer + No, the Webex App is my only phone for this number**

### Do
To pull an active call onto the desktop app from another client, select the green Move button located in the Messaging tab, or in the Calling tab if Messaging is not present[^43]. Under Settings, Calling, Move Call Options, choose between Always move the call if supported, Let me choose every time, or Always remote control the call[^44]. This capability operates on your primary line[^45].

### What you should see
Verify that the call moves to the desktop app and continues actively[^47].

### Rollback
Select the green Move button on your other client to transfer the call back[^43].

**The mobile app on an iPhone, iPad or Android phone + Yes, a desk phone rings with the same work number as the app**

### Do
To move a call from the mobile app to a Cisco desk phone, press the Call Pull key on the phone, or dial *11 on a third-party device[^14]. On a Cisco Desk Phone 9800 Series or Video Phone 8875 on Webex Calling, select Call pull or dial *11, selecting the line first if using multiple lines[^1]. To move an active call from the desk phone to the mobile app, tap the green Move button in the Messaging tab, or in the Calling tab if Messaging is unavailable[^43]. Call moves apply to your primary line, and pulling a secondary line requires selecting the line from Calling first[^45].

### What you should see
Verify that audio moves to the receiving device and terminates on the originating device[^2].

### Rollback
Move the call back by pressing Call Pull or dialling *11 on the phone, or tapping the green Move button in the mobile app[^14][^43][^2].

**The mobile app on an iPhone, iPad or Android phone + No, the Webex App is my only phone for this number**

### Do
To bring an active call from another client onto the mobile app, tap the green Move button in the Messaging tab, or in the Calling tab if Messaging is not available[^43]. Moving calls is supported on the primary line[^45].

### What you should see
Verify that the call transfers to the mobile app[^47].

### Rollback
Select the Move button on the alternate app client to return the call[^43].
